Equipping Shepherds for Mission: IHMP Holds BEC Orientation for Seminarians and Community Leaders
As the new pastoral year begins, an orientation was conducted for the seminarians and Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) leaders who will serve in the different communities of the parish for Pastoral Year 2026–2027.
The orientation was held at Claret Seminary, Sanville, Quezon City, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Efren Decrito, CMF, together with IHMP BEC Coordinator Luz Evangelista, various BEC leaders from our 12 communities, and PPC Coordinator Elaine Urbano. The gathering sought to prepare the participants spiritually and pastorally for their apostolate, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, servant leadership, and active participation in the life and mission of the Church.
During the orientation, the participants were introduced to the goals and expectations of the parish apostolate, the vital role of the BECs in building vibrant Christian communities, and their responsibilities in accompanying families, leading prayer gatherings, and promoting evangelization within their assigned communities.
The orientation also provided an opportunity for the seminarians and BEC leaders to get to know one another, strengthen bonds of fellowship, and foster teamwork as they prepare to serve God's people with generosity, humility, and missionary zeal.
May the Holy Spirit guide them throughout the coming pastoral year, and may the Immaculate Heart of Mary accompany them as they bring Christ's love and presence to every Basic Ecclesial Community in our parish.
