On October 17, 2026, members of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (IHMP) community embarked on a meaningful spiritual pilgrimage to six churches in Bulacan. Organized by the Shrine Commission and led by Rev. Fr. Julius Boado, CMF, the pilgrimage brought parishioners together in faith and drew them closer to Jesus through the loving intercession of Mama Mary.
The pilgrimage began at the National Shrine of Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción de Salambao in Obando, where Fr. Julius celebrated Holy Mass and gathered the pilgrims in prayer and thanksgiving as they entrusted their spiritual journey to the Lord.
At the same shrine, the IHMP pilgrims were also introduced to the traditional “Sayaw Panalangin,” popularly known as the “Sayaw sa Obando.” This well-known religious dance in Obando, Bulacan, is a cherished expression of faith and devotion, through which devotees dance in prayer to seek blessings, a life partner, or the gift of a child, invoking the intercession of Saint Clare, Saint Paschal Baylon, and Nuestra Señora de Salambao. Through this beautiful tradition, the pilgrims experienced a unique expression of Filipino Catholic faith, where prayer, culture, and devotion come together.
The pilgrims visited the following sacred places:
⛪ National Shrine of Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción de Salambao, Obando
⛪ National Shrine and Parish of the Divine Mercy, Marilao
⛪ Minor Basilica and Parish of La Purísima Concepción, Sta. Maria
⛪ Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, Bulakan
⛪ Minor Basilica and Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Malolos
⛪ Nuestra Señora del Carmen Parish (Barasoain Church), Malolos
More than a journey from one church to another, this pilgrimage was an opportunity to pause, pray, reflect, and renew one's relationship with the Lord. Through the celebration of the Holy Mass, shared prayers, fellowship, and encounters with Bulacan's rich religious heritage, the pilgrims were reminded that faith is not only lived in prayer but also expressed through traditions that unite generations of believers.
As we journey together in the Heart of Mary, may we continue to follow her example of humility, faith, and love, allowing her to lead us ever closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.
May the graces received throughout this spiritual pilgrimage inspire us to live our faith with renewed hope, love, and devotion.
