Sabado Ko, Kay Maria: A Pilgrimage of Faith with Our Blessed Mother
On August 1, 2026, our parish family once again gathered for Sabado Ko, Kay Maria, our monthly Saturday devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Through prayer, the Eucharist, fellowship, and community life, we joyfully accompanied Our Blessed Mother as she continued her pilgrimage among our Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs), reminding us that she always walks with us and faithfully leads us to her Son, Jesus Christ.
The day began before sunrise with the Lakbay Maria Procession at 5:30 AM, as the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was prayerfully brought from the U.P. Village Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the U.P. Village BEC for lovingly welcoming and caring for the Marian image during the past month, bearing witness to a vibrant faith and deep devotion to our Blessed Mother.
Parishioners who remained at the parish church while awaiting the procession gathered at 6:00 a.m. for the praying of the Holy Rosary and Lauds (Morning Prayer), preparing their hearts for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. They then joined together in the 6:30 a.m. Mass, which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Julius Boado, CMF.
Following the Mass, the faithful prayed the Novena and the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, entrusting to her maternal care their families, the parish community, and all those in need of her loving intercession.
The morning continued with a joyful community salo-salo, strengthening the bonds of fellowship among parishioners. At 8:00 AM, the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was then reverently transferred to the Old Capitol Site (OCS) Basic Ecclesial Community, where she will continue her month-long pilgrimage, bringing Christ's presence into the homes and lives of the faithful.
A special part of the morning was the Sambata Gathering, where children came together for prayer, catechesis, and fellowship. The gathering culminated in the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Dennis G. Tamayo, CMF. Through this gathering, our young parishioners were encouraged to deepen their love for Jesus and Our Blessed Mother while growing in faith as active members of the Church.
The afternoon provided further opportunities for prayer and spiritual renewal through the Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The faithful also gathered for the 5 O'Clock Habit Prayer, followed by Vespers (Evening Prayer), the Novena, and the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, before concluding the day with the anticipated Sunday Mass at 6:00 PM.
As the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary continues her pilgrimage among our BECs, may her gentle presence inspire us to become true missionary disciples - families rooted in prayer, communities united in charity, and faithful followers of Christ. May our Blessed Mother continue to accompany our parish, guiding each of us to listen to God's Word, trust in His loving plan, and joyfully proclaim the Gospel through our daily lives.
