Set Apart in Proclaiming God's Word: Commissioning of Lectors and Commentators
On 26 July, in celebration of the World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly and Fil-Mission Sunday, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish community gathered in joyful thanksgiving for the Commissioning of Lectors and Commentators during the 11:00 AM Sunday Mass.
The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Dennis G. Tamayo, CMF, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Julius I. Boado, CMF. More than 80 Lectors and Commentators responded to God's call, renewing their commitment to faithfully proclaim His saving Word and to bear witness to the Gospel through the example of their daily lives.
Also commissioned during the celebration were the LecCom Officers for the 2026–2028 term, led by Ms. Marilou Vegamora, who pledged to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, humility, and fidelity in service to the ministry and the Church.
As they begin another year of service, may all our newly commissioned Lectors, Commentators, and LecCom officers remain steadfast instruments of God's love and truth. Inspired by the faith and witness of our grandparents and the elderly, and strengthened by the Church's missionary spirit, may they proclaim the Word of God with reverence, conviction, and joy - leading others to a deeper encounter with Christ through both their ministry and the witness of holy living.
