TODAY IS THE DAY!
After weeks of preparation, prayer, and joyful anticipation, the long-awaited day has finally arrived. Today, September 7, 2026, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish will solemnly dedicate our church and altar to the glory and worship of God.
Just two days ago, on September 5, our parish community gathered for the General Rehearsal, carefully preparing the movements, music, and details of this sacred celebration. Yet beyond every preparation is something much deeper: a community of faith coming together in prayer and thanksgiving as this sacred place is solemnly set apart for divine worship.
Today, we invite our entire parish family to come and witness this historic moment in the life of IHMP. Come and pray with us. Come and celebrate with us. Come and give thanks to God with us.
Together, we will witness the beautiful rites of dedication: the anointing of the altar and the twelve crosses on the walls, the incensation of the altar and church, the lighting of the altar and the church, and the solemn prayer of dedication. Through these sacred rites, our church is consecrated as a place where the People of God will gather to hear the Word, celebrate the Eucharist, receive the sacraments, and offer worship to the Lord.
At the heart of this celebration is the altar, the center of our Eucharistic worship. It is the table of the Lord where the sacrifice of Christ is sacramentally made present and where his people are nourished with the Bread of Life. The dedication of the altar therefore points us always to Christ, the living stone and the foundation of his Church.
This is more than the dedication of a building. It is a moment of grace for a community of faith -- a sacred place that has welcomed generations of the IHMP family and, God willing, will continue to welcome generations to come.
May this dedication renew not only our church, but also our own dedication to Christ and to his mission. May everyone who enters these doors encounter the Lord, find a home in the Church, and be sent forth with renewed faith, hope, and love.
🕊️🌹 Come, be part of this historic day. Let us celebrate, pray, and give thanks together!
